Fred Sorenson Shield 29 November 2024

The Fred Sorenson Shield is an ambrose competition – 17 players competed for the trophy on the Old Course on 29 November 2024, in advance of the annual general meeting.  Four teams, one four-ball and 3 three-ball, had gross scores less than par, but an outstanding performance of a team comprising Garth Irvine, Bruce Morrison and Barry Boyd proved the winner – they chaulked up 6 birdies against just one bogey to give them a net 67.  Second place went to a four-ball team of John Campbell, Richard Russell, Steve Huckle and John Allen who scored 5 birdies against 2 bogies for a net 69.
